This year in Visions and readings

Visions 5. It’s a milestone year!!! As Director of Development, this year is going to be a lot different than last year. Last year, I was living on an island of party planning sprinkled with other responsibilities. However, I’m actually really stoked for this year. I really want to hone in on my time management skills and really nix my urge to procrastinate. That shit ain’t gonna cut it this year. Scheduling and budgets (in a professional manner) are what I want to perfect this year. Grant writing and fundraising are definitely skills I want to leave with, but I’m pretty sure it’d take longer than a year to become pro. Nonetheless, everything that comes with being a director of any kind is exciting. I’m so excited to make new friends, contacts, and experiences. Who knows what doors will be opened this year…

I really love how Visions is geared towards undergrads. As a small group, we can help, push, and motivate each other to reach our goals. There’s definitely a powerful energy when a small group of motivated people strive to achieve a common goal. Like art house cinemas, a small group of peers can change the game in any field. I really like that these readings are the first ones of the year. It really puts into perspective the amount of change that can be made through hard work, teamwork, and a vison.
